TODAY: Teen gets 6 months’ reformative training for sexually violating younger sister, including on grandpa’s bed

SINGAPORE — While asleep on her grandfather’s bed, a young girl was jolted awake when she felt pain in her private parts, only to find her teenage brother having sex with her.

He did so even though their grandparents were at home, albeit in a different room. At the time, the girl was aged between 10 and 11, and her biological brother was between 12 and 13 years old.

On Wednesday (Nov 8), the boy, who is now aged 16, was sentenced to at least six months’ reformative training for one count of sexual penetration of a minor.

Reformative training is a regimented rehabilitation programme for offenders under 21 who commit relatively serious crimes.

The siblings cannot be named due to a court order to protect their identities.
